The boys also finished filming their new video for "Pressing On" in July. It was directed by Darren Doane who's also worked with the Supertones, MxPx, and Blink 182. Watch out for the video this fall!

The cd is now being mastered, and the recording and mixing is now done! It's not long now til the cd we're all waiting for comes out on August 28th. For sneak peeks at the album, visit The Studio at Gotee Records to see photo shoot pictures and listen to sound clips! You can also check out the live version of "Breakdown" in the future music section on this site. The official title for the cd is THE ANATOMY OF THE TONGUE AND CHEEK. Songs that are expected to be on the cd are "Breakdown", "Sadie Hawkins Dance", "Pressing On", an acoustic version of "Curb", "Failure to Excommunicate", "Less Is More", "Those Words Are Not Enough", "Operation", "Maybe It's Maybelline", "May the Horse Be With You", and several others. It is definitely going to push rK to the top!!

Thank you for going out and buying the new album! In the first week after its release, it racked in almost 9,000 sales! This put them in the 159th slot of the Billboard Top 200 album chart. And that's not all...over 32,000 copies have been sold since then!

After being on tour for 9 months, the guys are finally getting a break! They've headed home for the holidays and will take a month off. They might then possibly work on their next album this winter! For anybody in the Canton area, they will be having a homecoming show at the Palace Theater. See itickets.com for more information.

Hey, remember the online scrapbook that was made for Relient K this past summer? Well in case you were wondering, it was given to the band in August and they saw and read it. Thanks again for entering it if you did. It was a great encouragement for the guys to see the support they have from all of you.

They've been touring all year, they taped a video, made a new album, recorded two tracks for upcoming Christmas cds, made the cover of magazines, and is planning to be in one of the biggest tours (this fall) just in the past several months!

As the band finishes out their summer festival dates, they are also back in the studio recording a song for the upcoming third Happy Christmas cd from BEC Recordings! The song is called "Santa Claus is Thumbing to Town."

As the release date for "The Anatomy of the Tongue In Cheek" is less than 2 months away, be sure to stuff away some money so you can get it right away on August 28th! There are a whomping 17 songs on this album, and the list goes like this:

The boys of rK will soon be shooting their brand new video for "Sadie Hawkins Dance!" And GARY COLEMAN, the "Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?" child actor from Diff'rent Strokes (now grown up but still just as cute, as Matt T said) will be a guest star! Stay tuned for more news on the video.

Going to see Relient K this summer? Well, remember to bring five extra bucks with you so that you can buy the new Creepy EP! It is a sneak peek to the new album, as well as a cd with songs not available on any other cd. It includes "Pressing On" and "Those Words Are Not Enough" from the new album, an acoustic version of "Softer to Me" and "Pressing On" (which is a back porch edition and includes 3 minutes of lawn mower noises!), a B-side called "Operation", and "Jefferson Airplane." Go get it!

According to Matt T, the band is looking for

as the release date for their sophomore album on Gotee Records! Woo hoo! The guys recorded all last month, and the cd is being produced from Gotee Records. Some songs to look for on the new cd are "Maybe It's Maybelline", "May the Horse Be With You", "Operation", "My Way Or the Highway", "Down In Flames", "Sadie Hawkins Dance", "Pressin' On", and "Breakdown"!

In case you live in a hole and haven't heard, Relient K is now on tour with Switchfoot and the OC Supertones! The tour hasn't come here yet, but I'm sure that it's been one of the best ones to ever hit the road. Make sure you go see it if it comes anywhere near you. For tour dates, visit relientk.com. Also, when you go see them, make sure you go say hi to the band. I heard they like that.

Though they should've had many more, Relient K received a nomination in the 2001 Dove Awards! The nomination is for Best Short Form Video for "My Girlfriend". The Dove Awards will take place on April 26, 2001, and should air on TNN.

In case you hadn't noticed, the number of club members has DOUBLED in just the past week! I just wanted to once again thank everybody for joining, and don't forget to keep getting all your buddies to join, too! This club still isn't completely done, as I hope to still add a lot to the club, such as tabs, sound clips, interviews, and more stuff for you guys. If anybody knows a good place to get a free chat room, let me know. The member photo and member links section should be up soon!
RECORDING
-The band has been recording all month, and will continue to work on the new album up until they leave in early February.
-After several requests, here's a picture of the new drummer, Dave.
RK FINDS NEW DRUMMER
-After Steve left, the guys of rk began a search for a new drummer. They temporarily found Jared Byers, from Atlanta, who played with them for several months. Finally, they found a new permanent drummer, Dave Douglas! He's from here in good old Canton, Ohio, like the rest of the band.
-This week, the band will began recording their follow-up to their first album on Gotee Records at the home of Mark Townsend. Matt T said they have 16 songs ready, but it's still unsure what will go on the cd. Stay tuned for more details!
-Now 8 months since the release of RK's self titled album, over 30,000 cds have been sold. Congratulations, RELIENT K!
